Course Introduction
The Ocean Course at Hokula is known for having the longest continuous oceanfront holes in all of Hawaii. On a golf course that MSN Travel has called one of the most beautiful in the world, you'll find half a mile of stunning ocean views. The layout winds through groves of mango and guava trees and then meanders along the Pacific Ocean. Conveniently located on the southeast coast of Kauai, the course is close to Lihue Airport and adjacent to Nawiliwili Harbor.
The front nine starts out mildly, but gradually becomes more difficult, including more forced punches and particularly tough par 3s. The golf course's front nine is nestled in dense jungle, and while the tropical scenery is breathtaking, the coastal back nine is what the course is known for. Even in Hawaii, where there is no shortage of beautiful scenery, the oceanfront views are unrivalled. The oceanfront location also means that the trade winds really come into play on these holes. In addition to the wind, you will also face water hazards such as inland lagoons and numerous bunkers scattered throughout.
