Course Introduction
In November 2001, the Gotemba Course was chosen as the venue for the WGC-EMC World Cup 2001, where a total of 48 superstars from 24 countries around the world gathered. Gotemba Course. On the final day of the tournament, T. Woods, who was on the US team with D. Duval, made a chip-in eagle on the 18th hole, which was broadcast worldwide as a miracle shot and made the Taiheiyo Club famous throughout the world.
Pines, cedars and other trees are abundant and separate each hole. The outing starts with a downhill middle hole, followed by doglegs and lakes, making for a varied layout. The in-ground fairways have minor undulations but are generally flat. Fairway bunkers are located in key areas to tighten up the first shot.
