Course Introduction
Ganton is one of the finest inland links courses in the British Isles and has hosted major tournaments such as the 1949 Ryder Cup, 2000 Curtis Cup and 2003 Walker Cup. The bunkers are exceptional and are a special feature of the course. There are over 100 carefully placed bunkers on the course, some of which are very large, both in width and depth, while others are very small. Only the lucky (or very good) golfers can avoid the bunkers at Ganton.
The course has three short par 4s, and although there are only three par 3s, the par 4s are strong enough to make up for it. The 406-yard par-4 fourth requires a steady tee shot to a wide fairway before the undulating green, which sits on a plateau, comes into view. Close shots must be hit over gullies and avoid bunkers on the right side of the green. From the raised 5th tee (a short par 3 of 157 yards) there are great views of the well-protected green. Only a straight tee shot will suffice.
Known for its natural beauty, dramatic bunkers and unique tactical challenges, Ganton has a rich history and is a must-visit for any golfer.
