Course Introduction
Conveniently located 8 kilometres from Perth's CBD, the traditional Tudor Clubhouse overlooks excellent fairways, greens and picturesque lakes, with views of the city and Darling Ranges. Significantly, the 12th tee is one of the highest viewpoints in the metropolitan area.
The course begins with the daunting par 3, one of five short holes in the programme. With more than 23 traps, this sand-filled nine is a good example of why Western Australia is known for its ferocious bunkering. The second nine, which offers a magnificent panoramic view of the city of Perth as a backdrop from the 4th 12 tee, is worth the trip in itself for all golfers.
One of the most significant changes to the course came in 2000 when an irrigation system was installed, which also included a small lake between the ninth and first holes. This enabled the course to host the 2004 Western Australian PGA Championship.
