Course Introduction
Founded in 1896, the Brisbane Golf Club was originally located in nearby Chelmer with a 9-hole course. Eight years later, the club moved to its current site and a new course was built by Scottish-born Sydney professional and three-time Australian Open champion Carnegie Clark.
Feature holes include the 433-yard par 1 5th hole, where water runs along the left side of the fairway, and the 376-yard 8th hole, where Moorabbin Creek runs through the fairway and onto the green. On the back nine, the 217-yard 11th (which, prior to its redevelopment in 1999, was located on the short 9-hole West Course) faces a long, narrow, three-tiered green that slopes from front to back, while the 334-yard 15th requires precision shot-making due to the very narrow playing corridor.
