Course Introduction
Castle Hill Country Club is one of Sydney's leading private golf clubs, set on 167 acres of open fairways and picturesque bushland with extensive clubhouse facilities. As the venue for major events such as the Australian PGA Championship, the NSW Open Golf Championship, the Canon Challenge and the NSW PGA Seniors Championship, Castle Hill Country Club's clubhouse, coupled with its renowned golf course, ensures it is one of Australia's premier venues.
The well-manicured 167-acre course measures 6,805 yards from the back markers, has a par of 72 and is divided into two loops of nine holes each. Water hazards surround the tee or green on many holes, and more than 60 bunkers of various shapes and sizes are scattered around the course.
The par-3 No. 2, with water on the right and sand and out-of-bounds areas on the left, is a challenging hole early in the round. The short par-4 6th is another tough hole, with sand protecting the front of the green and water at the back of the putting surface, despite a good strike index. The back nine, ‘The Falls’, is a picturesque short hole measuring 187 yards, but the iconic par 5 18th is probably the hole many will remember most. With water threatening the first two shots on the final hole, a good shot here could easily fail.
