Course Introduction
The terrain of Katayamazu is characterized by the natural beauty of pine forests and gentle undulations. In 1957, designer Yoshikazu Sato skillfully utilized these natural contours to create the 18-hole Hakusan Course, perfectly blending nature with golf. It quickly became beloved as a scenic seaside course. In 1962, the 18-hole Nihonkai Course, also designed by Sato, was completed, followed by the 18-hole Kaga Course in 1970. With a total of 54 holes, it became the largest golf course on the Sea of Japan side. In 1996, the Kaga Course underwent a full renovation under the design and supervision of Shunsuke Kato, transforming it into a championship-length course exceeding 7,000 yards. The Hakusan, Nihonkai, and Kaga courses were reintroduced as three distinct layouts, each showcasing their unique characteristics.
