Course Introduction
Situated on Australian Defence Force land, Queen's Cliff Golf Club boasts a unique island setting, surrounded by the natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere of Swan Bay. Golfers are mesmerised by the stunning scenery of the course and its surroundings, which constantly changes with the passage of time, the changing light, the sea breeze and the changing seasons. The only sound in the tranquil atmosphere is the occasional whistle of the Bellarine steam train.
The great thing about a course built on an island is that it has a truly all-weather course. No matter how hard it rains, you'll have to step into Swan Bay or the water hazards to get your feet wet.
Highlights of the course's front nine include the 158-metre-long No. 3, which has water in front of the left side of the green, and the 138-metre-long No. 9, which has bunkers around the putting area. The shorter 4th hole, the 7th, is just as exciting, curving right from the tee with Swan Bay to the left of the fairway. On the back nine, consecutive par fives at the 11th and 12th provide real birdie chances, then a series of tough finishing holes from the 15th, with only the short par 4 17th providing any real respite before the ball can be hit to the home green close to the clubhouse.
