Home to the inaugural Malaysian Open, the historic Old Course, at 6,742 yards and playing to par-72, provides a memorable journey from the first tee to the 18th green. The Malaysian Open continued to be held at the RSGC Old Course between 1962 and 1986, and then again in 2002.
Recent reconstruction and remodeling by the respected design company of Robin Nelson and Neil Haworth has certainly improved the RBSC with modern day golf challenges with many tactical surprises and strategic course thinking required to score well. Each hole now offers a different golfing experience and challenges one’s golfing approach. Multiple tees ensure that golfers of varying skill levels will enjoy their game. However, the basic routing has till today retained most of its unique characteristics and charm of the original parkland environment.
