Course Introduction
Situated between Bangkok and Pattaya, the Amata Springs Country Club is the venue for the Royal Cup - the Ryder Cup event between the best golfers from Europe and Asia. Designed by the renowned golf course architect Lee Schmidt of Schmidt-Curley Design, the course has been a cornerstone of television programs worldwide as the venue for Thailand's largest tournaments. The golf course challenges, tempts, punishes, and rewards players, requiring an exceptionally high level of precision for good scores. The iconic 17th hole with its "floating green" is one of the most famous holes in the golfing world. Players arrive at elevated tees, overlooking greens set along the expansive lakeside of Amata Springs. Boating beneath the majestic Amata Castle leads to the putting surfaces. The course stretches 7500 yards from the championship tees, ensuring even high-level players face a stern test. Strategic tee placements on each hole ensure a golfing experience that is both enjoyable and challenging for players of all levels. While power and length are necessary on the longer front nine, finesse and accuracy are essential on the shorter yet perilous back nine.
