Wanaka Golf Club

Wanaka Golf Course is a picturesque 18-hole golf course surrounded by mountains and overlooking Lake Wanaka. The course is located in the town of Wanaka, just an hour's drive from Queenstown, in the heart of the Queenstown Lakes District. The course is maintained to a very high standard and as Central Otago continues to grow as a golf destination, so too has the Wanaka Golf Club.

The course was originally built in 1922 on the lower grounds of public land. In the 1930s, the course was moved up the hill to Faulks Terrace and Stone Street. In 1967, the course was built across the road at Wanaka Station to nine holes.

The front nine holes offer views of the town of Lake Wanaka and the lake and mountains beyond. The back nine holes have a more park-like feel with tree-lined fairways and spectacular views of Iron Mountain, Gold Mountain and the Cardrona Valley. In winter, the golf course is covered with snow, but Wanaka has a suitable climate and is suitable for playing golf all year round.
