Course Introduction
Karori Golf Club was the first golf club in the world to release exotic birds on the course. The club is set in the scenic Makara Hills, just 15 minutes from the coolest little capital city in the world. Not only is it a challenging and scenic course, it is also a sanctuary for some of New Zealand's rare wildlife.
The course is set in idyllic countryside surrounded by native scrubby hills where the only sounds to be heard are those of birds and farm animals. The fairways are lined with lush greenery and two rocky streams meander through or past all but four of the holes. The course focuses on accurate tee shots, with elevated greens on several holes, making otherwise simple shots more challenging. These greens have one of the best brown-topped putting surfaces around.
