Bairnsdale Golf Club

Situated within a 120-acre property on top of red limestone cliffs just outside Paynesville, with glorious views across Eagle Point Bay to the north, the course at Bairnsdale Golf Club extends to just over 6,000 metres from the back tees, playing to a par of 71. It hosts many district events and is a well-regarded venue for the annual Bairnsdale Pro-Am tournament.

Highlight holes include the only par five on the front nine, the 491-metre 3rd, which is routed along the southern perimeter of the layout with out of bounds on the right. The fairway moves slightly left to right off the tee, heading to an offset, two-tiered green that’s protected by a couple of bunkers to the front right of the putting surface.

The 415-metre 16th marks the start of a great finish here, playing to a small green with sand hazards on either side. The 17th is the longest par three on the card, with a raised green and bunkers to the left and right of the putting surface. The par five 18th then offers a good birdie chance, but only if one avoids the long, narrow bunker to the right side of the home green.
