Course Introduction
Located on the Murray River, just two and a half hours north of Melbourne, Rich River boasts two distinct championship golf courses, earning it a spot as one of regional Australia's premier golf courses and the venue for the 2023 New South Wales Open.
Opened in 1979, the West Course, par 72, has hosted numerous professional tournaments and offers an excellent test for players of all abilities. Its compact layout, tree-lined fairways, and elevated greens make it more challenging to score on than the East Course.
Redesigned by Peter Thompson in 1998, the East Course, par 72, is a links-style course with numerous holes encountering water. The back nine is particularly challenging, with the final five holes determining a good score or an excellent score, requiring players to avoid strategic water hazards and challenging bunkers. The East Course currently hosts the Rich River Novice Classic, one of only two national-level novice events in Australia.
