Waterford Valley Golf Course

Waterford Valley Golf Club officially opened in April 2006. This 18-hole course is located within a large residential area, which significantly impacts the routing of the front nine. The course can be set to any distance between 5,170 and 6,545 meters, making it fully capable of hosting championship events on the back nine.

The fairways are covered with Santa Ana grass, and the greens are covered with curved carpet, providing excellent playing surfaces. Several holes on the course encounter water hazards in the form of lakes and wetlands, but the fairways are generally wide enough to prevent most players from losing too many golf balls in these water hazards.

Highlights include the 179-meter-long hole 2, which features a large emergency exit area on the left side of the green for those who prefer not to risk playing over water from the tee. The par-5 6th is another highlight of the front nine, with a fairway that deviates slightly to the right, with water flowing along the left side of the fairway to the tree-lined green. On the more open back nine, the double-dogleg 14th is the easiest of the par-5s, offering a late birdie opportunity. The 18th isn't usually scored 1, but it is at Waterford Valley. The main green has been converted to an island green, with four large bunkers providing further protection near the putting surface.
