Course Introduction
The Japan Rhein Golf Club, nestled in the verdant hills of Kani City, Gifu Prefecture, is a majestic 36-hole stage that has inscribed half a century of glory in Japan’s professional golf history. Since its opening in 1966, it has hosted prestigious tournaments such as the 1977 45th Japan Professional Golf Championship, the 1981 46th Japan Open Golf Championship, and the 1986 54th Japan Professional Golf Championship, where countless champions battled and carved their legends. In recent years, it has also become the venue for the JLPGA Legends Tour “Kayaba Legends Open”, continuing to convey the timeless allure of golf across generations. The West Course, framed by pine and chestnut groves, rises and falls about thirty meters, dotted with ponds yet mercifully few OB zones—an elegant balance of challenge and forgiveness. The East Course, broader and more expansive, is lined with over forty species of trees; its IN section preserves natural valleys and ponds, demanding wisdom and precision from every swing. Nearby lies the scenic Kiso River, celebrated as the “Japan Rhine,” where rugged rocks and clear waters weave a panorama of beauty. In essence, the Japan Rhein Golf Club is not merely a golf course, but an epic woven from history and nature.
