Course Introduction
Namcheon Country Club (formerly Phoenix Spring Country Club), opened in 2009, was designed by Jim Fazio and owned by the brother of renowned golf star Hong Seok-kyu, who twice served as a member of the Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association.
The Namcheon Golf Course comprises a lakeside course and a mountain course, totaling 18 holes and 7,271 yards from the back tee. True to Jim Fazio's style—a "visual impact expert"—it features daring bunkers and dramatic greens.
The fairways are constructed of Korean zoysia grass (Joong-ji) (all greens are finished with creeping bentgrass), and the holes are built around seven lakes and several prominent rock outcrops. Namcheon Golf Course is a model of modern Korean golf, and its outdoor hot spring facilities are a must-use for golfers after a round of play.
