Thailand's rainy season lasts from June to October, but it rarely rains continuously during the day; it's often in the afternoons. Prices in Thailand are constantly rising, including the explosive growth in golf prices. However, during the rainy season, there are many promotional prices for golf, so the first morning of the rainy season is a relatively good time to play golf. Today, we'll introduce you to the Pattana Golf Course in Thailand.
Pattana Golf Club & Resort opened in 2004 and is located in Chonburi Province. It's only a 1-hour 30-minute drive from Bangkok to this course. The golf course is a true golf resort, with 27 holes spread across expansive grounds. Apart from the golf course, there are accommodations, saunas, and fitness facilities.
Designed by Gussan Co., the Pattana Golf Club has become popular among many Korean golfers recently, hence the addition of a Korean restaurant. The course is affordable, attracting young golfers from Thailand, as well as Korean players.
Golf Course Features
The course has 27 holes, with wide fairways and a generally flat layout. The ABC course is longer with more obstacles like sand traps, making it quite challenging. The B course is the most difficult, while A and C courses are also very interesting and never get dull no matter how many times you play. Although the course is quite far from Bangkok, the fees are reasonable, and the environment is comfortable.
Course Conditions
Even in the rain, the course is well maintained.
The caddies are very helpful, and the grass is well taken care of.
Pushcarts are not allowed on the fairways on rainy days, so the condition of the course remains quite good. Overall, the course has gentle undulations, plenty of water, trees, and sand traps.
On rainy days, water levels rise, and water hazards become challenging to deal with, but if you play strategically, you can avoid them more easily. The course is relatively forgiving in terms of losing balls, so even beginners can enjoy playing here.
Scorecard
A(ANDREAS)
B(BROOKEI)
C(CALYPSO)
This 27-hole course consists of the A course (Andreas), B course (Brookly), and C course (Calypso), each with 9 holes. The A course has a longer par 6 hole, making it one of the few 37-par courses in Thailand. The B course, with 9 holes, is one of the most challenging courses in Thailand. When you visit Pattana Golf Club & Resort, be sure to try the B course, as it's very famous and often referred to as the B course.
Clubhouse
The clubhouse facilities are advanced and quite impressive. The only downside is that lunch is buffet-style.
Locker Rooms
Shop
There is a well-stocked pro shop selling original products from the golf course, making it a great place to buy souvenirs and gifts.
Restaurant
The restaurant mainly offers buffet meals. There is a Korean restaurant on the first floor; if you're not a fan of buffets, it's recommended to dine there.
Practice Range
There is a large chipping and putting area where you can practice beforehand.
In Conclusion
The international ambiance here is unparalleled in the Bangkok area! The Chonburi Province is a golfer's paradise. I envy those who live in Sriracha and Chonburi. If you've never been there, try out the challenging B course.
