Tips when playing golf

Golf tips:

1. Playing time

Early morning is the best time to play golf, because the weather will be hotter in the afternoon. The three islands are suitable for golf all year round. The peak season for golf in Bali is from July to September, in Batam from November to February of the following year, and in Bintan from November to April of the following year.

2. Tips for caddies

Bali golf courses provide caddy services, but many caddies do not speak English or speak poor English. You can bring a translator to facilitate communication. The standard tip for caddies in Bali is 300,000 Indonesian rupiah (equivalent to about 20USD); Batam and Bintan recommend a caddy tip of 30-50 SGD (equivalent to about 22-40USD). Tips are usually given directly to the caddy at the end of the round.

1. Cultural taboos

When visiting temples, you are not allowed to wear shorts or short skirts. You need to rent a salon and belt for free outside the temple. Women who are menstruating should not enter temples. When taking photos during religious ceremonies, avoid standing in front of the worshippers or using flash to photograph the priests. When someone (especially the priest) is sitting on the ground, do not stand to their right side. Do not touch a child's head casually. The left hand is considered unclean in Indonesian culture, so try to use the right hand when interacting with people. In Indonesia, it is considered impolite to point at people casually, especially with the index finger.

2. Climate

Bali is hot all year round, with an average annual temperature of about 28 degrees Celsius. The rainy season is from October to March of the following year, and March to September is the standard dry season, which is most suitable for tourism. July and August are the peak months for tourism.

The average daytime temperature in Batam ranges from 28 degrees Celsius to 30 degrees Celsius. It is warm and sunny all year round. May to September is the most pleasant season in Batam. It is recommended to wear light and breathable clothing and prepare sunscreen and sun hats.

Bintan has a warm climate all year round, and the temperature basically remains between 21°C and 32°C throughout the year. It is recommended to prepare appropriate sunscreen and mosquito repellent measures.

3. Transportation

Since Indonesians do not like to take buses, there are few buses and they are inconvenient to take. The traffic on the three islands is right-hand drive and left-hand driving, and the road conditions may be complicated. When crossing the road, please make sure to fully observe the vehicle and road conditions, and look to the right first and then to the left.
