Osaka Golf Club

One of the top 100 golf courses in Asia and the only seaside golf course in Kansai, designed by master architect Osamu Ueda

Spring Cherry Blossoms

Autumn maple

The Osaka Golf Club started construction in 1937, and the course was designed by Osamu Ueda, who had just returned from Europe. Although the soil was good, the construction of the golf course was unexpectedly difficult due to the coastal location and complex terrain. It was finally completed on July 25, 1938 and opened to the public. However, due to the war, taxes were imposed, and it reopened in July 1953 after the war.

The golf course takes full advantage of the rolling hills facing Osaka Bay. Half of all holes (nine holes) have ocean views. Osaka Golf Club is the only oceanfront championship course in the Kansai region and is known as one of the most difficult courses in Japan.

The venue for the Kansai Professional Championship, Osaka Golf has been selected as one of the top 100 golf courses in Asia and Japan many times. Osaka Golf is one of the landmark courses that must be visited when visiting the Kansai region.

There are 83 deep Ellison bunkers on the green, so you need to be precise when hitting the ball. The terrain of the course is relatively flat, but there are many blind paths, which make it difficult to tell the direction, so you need to be careful. The fairway is undulating and slightly narrow.

The shuttle bus to the golf course picks up at the designated time. There is also a bus for the return trip. Make an appointment with the front desk when checking in.

Seta Golf Course-North Course

“Designed by famous teacher Seiichi Inoue” × “Championship venue”

The Seta Golf Course has 54 holes (north, east, and west) and is located in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, adjacent to Lake Biwa, about 50-60 minutes by car from downtown Osaka.

The rolling hills offer a view of Lake Biwa and Mt. Hiei, and this is a prestigious high-end resort course. The course has beautiful greens and is the first in the Kansai region to use the latest variety of Mackenzie bent grass, which is kept in top condition throughout the season.

The North Course, designed by golf guru Seiichi Inoue, has hosted many tournaments. It hosted the TOTO Japan Classic in 2021 and 2024, the only US LPGA Championship held in Japan. In the 2024 tournament, rookie Reika Takeda won the championship and became the prize money king of the year, becoming a hot topic. Takeda also qualified to challenge the US LPGA next year. The TOTO Classic has also been decided to be held here in November 2025.

Hanayashiki Golf Club Yokawa Course

The venue for the JLPGA tournament

The Yogawa Course at Hanayashiki Golf Club was designed by Seiichi Inoue and is the venue for the Fujifilm Alice Women’s Open.

A magnificent hillside course. The fairways are wide and long. The shortest par 5 hole is 500 yards long. Especially the par 3 holes, which have to cross valleys and ponds, will not achieve good results if you take shortcuts.

Kansai’s first Mackenzie (the newest variety of bent grass) green, kept in top condition all year round. The green is kept in top condition all season long.

Kansai Airport Golf Club

*PGM operated, a popular course that can be booked for two people*

50 minutes by car from downtown Osaka. 40 minutes by car from Kansai Airport. Excellent location and convenient transportation.

The course is spectacular and dynamic. It requires solid technique and mental toughness. The short 14th hole is the most beautiful hole in the club, with fabulous spring cherry blossoms.

The course of Kansai Airport Golf Club seems flat with little altitude change, but the lakes and bunkers are cleverly laid out, requiring precise shots.

Golden Valley Golf Club

2024 Asia Top 100 Ranking 36th, one of the most difficult courses in Japan

Golden Valley Golf Club (Golden Valley Golf Club) This course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and places high demands on the players’ skills and strategies.

In particular, the numerous bunkers and water hazards throughout the course not only require accurate shots, but also present different challenges for each hole. In addition, the undulating greens and fast green speeds are also a test for players.

Golden Valley made its debut on the Asia Top 100 list in 2020, ranking 70th, and has been in the top 50 in the past two years. This rate of rise is very rare.

Taiheiyo Club Rokko Course

Super Stylish Restaurant, Japan Top 100

The club inherits the tradition and prestige of the Tudor dynasty, and the wing-shaped staircases that open from the lobby to both sides welcome visitors. The overall design also creates a solemn atmosphere.

The famous 18th hole is only for those with great skills. It is the most beautiful par 4 finishing hole in Japan. It is 435 yards long (359 yards from the green), a dogleg left hole with three lakes. Unless you can hit a precise long shot, you will have to hit the green with your second shot. The fairway is wide and long enough to give you a completely new impression of the golf courses in the past in the Kansai area.

Taiheiyo Club Arima Course

Master craftsman Seizo Tomizawa has devoted his efforts to creating this course.

Although the course is not long, there are bunkers on the greens and valleys cut into the fairways, so you must always pay attention to where you are hitting the ball.

This is a unique course that you will want to play again because it is possible to do well or to fail. The restaurant is super stylish and the course is well maintained.
