Located approximately 40 minutes north of downtown Bangkok, the Bangkok Golf Club is an 18-hole course. It is part of River Valley Golf and features a hotel. The clubhouse is clean and beautiful, and the course is known for its nighttime lighting. The greens are fast, reaching 12-13 on a good day.

Pairing Bangkok Golf with River Valley Golf and staying at the accompanying hotel is a great option.
Although the driving range has been renovated, it's only open from 7:30 AM (though, as is typical of Thailand, it may not be open at times).
The course is narrow, short, and flat, with dense trees and ponds, a typical Bangkok suburban golf course. While there are few undulations or slopes, the ponds and fast greens offer a challenging experience.

Particularly interesting holes include:
Hole 5, with its 130-yard island green and white tee. Despite its short distance, the greens are incredibly fast, requiring precise placement and close cooperation with an experienced caddie.
The 490-yard par-5 9th hole from the White Terrace requires precision on every shot. It's easy to over-relax off the tee and make a mistake—that's the trap. Failure to hit the ball to the right on your second shot will put you in trouble, so aim your tee shot towards the right bunker. The second shot must be played left, avoiding the large pond on the right, and ultimately, there's the challenge of a shot around the pond on the right.
Hole 10 is a 300-yard dogleg par 4 from the white tees. Trouble lurks everywhere: out-of-bounds on the right, overshooting straight ahead, and water waiting on the left—making it a formidable challenge. A well-placed 200-yard drive sets up a far easier second shot. Faced early in the morning, when the body is still stiff, this hole can be discouraging. But if you start from the back nine and are fully warmed up, there’s even a chance of reaching the green in one.
Hole 11 is a 147-yard par 3 from the white tees. While the previous island green may have seemed tough, this short hole is the real test. Players must carry a pond and a massive bunker to reach a lightning-fast green with the course’s most dramatic slopes. Even if you land safely on the putting surface, there is no room for complacency. From the tee box, the view ahead is nothing short of daunting.
Hole 13 is a handicap 1, a 511-yard par 5 with white legs. As with hole 9, be mindful of your tee shot direction. Lie your ball left to gain distance for your second shot. If your third shot falls short, the pond on the right poses a threat, so exercise caution.
Hole 16 is a par 3, with white legs and a 386-yard hole. The second shot presents a challenge due to the large tree directly in front of the green. While the approach strategy may vary slightly depending on the pin position, the tree makes reaching the green in two shots extremely challenging. If you choose to land your ball just short of the green and prepare for a third shot, the green itself is incredibly challenging, making par a challenge.

The key to success on this course lies in precise control of the greens, including your short chip shot. Fortunately, the greens aren't extremely compacted, but even experts often struggle here.
The fairways offer virtually no undulations or slopes, eliminating the need to consider distance or sloped shots. However, the presence of numerous obstacles, such as giant ponds and bunkers, combined with the unique characteristics of the greens, makes this a challenging course to play well. The first half of the course is dominated by straight holes, while the second half offers an increasing number of doglegs.
