Open for 10 years, Lotus Valley Golf Course was named Asia's Best Value for Money Experience in Asia Pacific in 2018. While slightly out of the city, it offers excellent value. The accompanying hotel, Sappaya, is also quite nice—new, clean, quiet, and comfortable, with rates around 2,000 THB per room per night, including breakfast. It's a great option for a stay-and-play experience.

This 18-hole golf course is about an hour and 10-15 minutes northeast of Bangkok. Due to the long road journey, it can feel a bit remote.
For Thai residents, it's a bit out of Bangkok, but it's known for its frequent tournaments and its beautiful clubhouse, complete with a bathtub. There's also a hotel on site.

Designed by Jon Morrow, the designer of Riverdale and Red Mountain Golf, the course isn't overly challenging.
The fairways are moderately wide, with gentle undulations. Water hazards are rarely a concern, and the layout is easy to navigate. The course features a staggered arrangement of short par 3s and 4s, as well as long par 3s and 4s, offering opportunities for players of all lengths and ensuring a smooth transition.
The greens are slightly firm, and several unique holes offer a lot of interest.

The only drawback is that, perhaps due to the soil, the overall drainage of the course is somewhat limited.
During the rainy season, tee shots are almost impossible to roll, and the dense rough makes teeing difficult.

The 10th hole is quite challenging with a driver, so it is recommended to tee off from the outfield.
The signature holes are the short, over-water hole on the 3rd and the long, par 5 18th.
The third shot on the 18th is particularly crucial, a game-winning shot that is sure to become an unforgettable moment. The final two holes, which follow the short, ultra-long 17th, offer the potential for a thrilling comeback.
During cherry blossom season, several holes offer stunning views of the blossoms in full bloom. Soaking in the hot springs after a round of golf is a truly blissful experience (though the occasional cool water temperature is quite typical of Thailand...).

Also, the extensive practice facilities, including a wide hitting area extending from the practice mats, a spacious catching green, and a putting green, are delightful. Many golfers even go there in advance specifically for practice.

While I have some concerns about the quality of the course, overall, it's a great value and highly recommended for a trip with friends. While the clubhouse has been renovated for some time and shows signs of age, it still appears clean at first glance.
