The Lianhua Mountain Ski Resort in Jilin Province is located in the Lianhuashan Virgin Forest Scenic Area, Lianhuashan Economic Development Zone, Yantongshan Town, Panshi City, Jilin Province. It officially opened on December 8, 2002. It was built in 2002 by Jilin Lianhuashan Industrial Co., Ltd. with an investment of 100 million yuan. The first phase of the project was completed and put into use on December 8. The park covers an area of 23 square kilometers. This place has historically been the habitat of ethnic minorities such as Sushen, Gaoguli, and Jurchen. Until the end of Ming Dynasty, it was still a vast virgin forest, known as the "sea". It was turned into a paddock during the Shunzhi period of the Qing Dynasty, and it was banned for more than 2,000 years. Before liberation, it was the place where the bandit Fu Dianchen was entrenched. After liberation, it was the location of the shooting range of the third line factory 324 arsenal. The original style is well preserved.
The Lianhuashan Virgin Forest Scenic Area has high mountains and dense forests. The main peak is as high as 1,049 meters above sea level. There are three peaks above 1,000 meters and 9 peaks above 800 meters. The mountain preserves a large area of virgin red pine forest, and the natural peak structure makes the forest season distinct. Very ornamental. The Lianhuashan Ski Resort is a continental season. Due to the blocking of the love lotus-shaped mountain system, the wind speed of the ski resort is very low, and the cold northwest wind cannot come in. The highest peak located on the northeast side is shady slope. Conducive to the preservation of snow. The snow cover period starts from November of each year to the beginning of May of the following year, with a thickness of 0.5 m to 1.5 m. The snow is loose and granular. It is especially suitable for the development and construction of ski resorts. The first phase of the Lianhua Mountain Ski Resort has 8 ski trails, a 200-meter longest snow circle trail in China, and 6 alpine ski trails with a total length of more than 10,000 meters.
